Book Lovers Invited To Sugar
Land Branch Library’S Afternoon Book Break
Fort Bend County Libraries
invites book-lovers to join May’s Book Break on Thursday,
May 12, beginning at 12:30 pm, in the Meeting Room at the Sugar Land
Branch, 550 Eldridge Road. The book to be discussed is Carolyn Parkhurst’s debut
novel, Dogs of Babel.
The story begins when Paul Iverson, a linguistics professor, returns home to
find that his beloved wife Lexy is dead; the only witness is their dog, Lorelei.
Reeling from grief, and determined to unlock the mystery of Lexy’s unusual
death, Paul abandons his everyday life to embark on a series of experiments
designed to teach Lorelei to communicate the happenings of that tragic day.
The literary discussion group is free and open to the public; those attending
are invited to bring a lunch along, if desired. For more information, call the
branch at 281-277-8934, or the Public Information Office at 281-341-2677.
